Are They Real?
Lab-grown diamonds and gemstones are real diamonds and gemstones — not ‘imitation’ ones. Instead of forming over millions of years in the Earth’s mantle, they are created in rough crystal form by scientists. They are optically, visually, and chemically identical to natural diamonds.
How Are They Made?
There are two primary methods used to create diamonds in a laboratory: CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) and HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature).
Our diamonds are created using a combination of both.
The HPHT method involves the application of high temperatures and pressures to a small seed crystal, while the CVD process ‘grows’ the diamonds from the chemical reaction of distilled carbon gas and a seed crystal.
Our lab-grown diamonds are created using the CVD method and are further treated using HTHP to improve the colour.
The Benefits of Lab-Grown Diamonds and Gemstones
PRICE: Depending on the size and quality of the individual stones, they typically cost between 15-30% less than mined diamonds and gemstones.
ETHICAL APPEAL: For consumers concerned about the environmental and social issues surrounding mined diamonds and gemstones, lab-grown diamonds are a great alternative. As they are created in a lab by scientists, they are conflict-free and eco-conscious products.
