First up, a look at some of the best cafés in Antibes.

Antibes’ effortless allure has attracted many famous names over the decades. From Hollywood royalty the likes of Cary Grant and Sophia Loren, to celebrated creators such as writer F Scott Fitzgerald. One of Antibes most renowned former visitors was Pablo Picasso. The artist spent much of his life there and the Musée Picasso is a must visit for art lovers, with many of his works on display.

Built on an ancient greek fortified town, Antibes looks out onto the stunning Côte d'Azur. Its historic 16th century ramparts house old town Antibes, with cobbled streets and red roofed, pastel coloured buildings that exude old world charm. The town’s world famous daily marketplace, Marché Provençal offers a diverse range of regional produce, perfect for taking in the varied tastes and scents of Southern France.

Antibes is home to Port Vauban, the largest marina in the Mediterranean. The historic port dates back to before the Roman Empire, and now boasts several of the world’s most luxurious yachts. Visitors can enjoy a stroll past the marina and indulge in a bit of fantasy yacht shopping.

The town boasts plenty of places to stop and enjoy some delightful French refreshments before venturing out again to explore this beautiful region.

Here’s our lowdown of the five best cafés in Antibes.

#1. Boulangerie Veziano

Perfecting pastry since 1924, this family run bakery offers quintessential French fare. Just a couple of minutes walk from the Marché Provencal, Boulangerie Veziano serves up exquisite freshly baked breads, pastries and other delicious treats. Owner Jean-Paul Veziano is world renowned for his tasty creations.

It’s takeaway only. So, grab yourself a flaky croissant or a slice of their world famous pissaladieré (onion tart) and head over to the Place Nationale public square to people watch.

#2. La Torref de Fersen

There’s only one place to satisfy your morning coffee fix in Antibes. La Torref de Fersen, run by Franck, serves up delicious freshly roasted coffee like you’ve never tasted before. It’s the only coffee house in Antibes where coffee is roasted in house every day. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

For coffee aficionados, Franck also runs coffee and espresso workshops on demand, imparting his expert coffee wisdom, gleaned from years as a high end barista and coffee roaster.

Situated along the Rue de Fersen, Torref de Fersen is just a 4 minute walk from the Picasso Museum.

#3. Choopy’s Cupcakes & Coffee

For something sweet, pop into the delightful Choopy’s. Known for its colourful cupcakes and delicious coffee, Choopy’s is a cute, family friendly café with tons of charm. Most of the menu is gluten free, with a wide range of vegetarian and vegan fare.

Choopy’s warm, friendly atmosphere is well known by its many visitors over the past decade. A great place to meet friends, relax and treat yourself.

#4. Café Brun

For something a little more grown up, Café Brun, situated just steps from the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, is the perfect spot. Featuring a stylish, mid century interior with wood panelled walls, leather armchairs and bicycles suspended from the ceiling, Café Brun is the perfect place to stop for lunch.

Known for its great wine list and array of mouthwatering cocktails, why not pop by for a drink or two, plus some tempting dishes at the end of a long day of sightseeing or lounging by those stunning azure waters.

#5. Le Café Jardin

Sample some local products and enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or dessert amidst the beautiful scenery offered at Le Café Jardin. A short stroll from the Place Nationale, this friendly bar and coffee shop is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike.


With a picturesque hidden garden and shaded patio with an aquarium and water feature, Le Café Jardin is the perfect stop for some refreshments on a hot afternoon.

Great for families and solo travellers, the rustic atmosphere combined with a warm welcome from the staff makes Le Café Jardin a firm favourite.
