The sprouts are on the shelves, the annual competition for the best ad has begun (surely we aren’t the only ones who wept buckets at this year’s John Lewis ad?) and Mariah is streaming through shopping centre sound systems. We think it’s finally safe to start talking about...Christmas.
Christmas presents to be precise.
If you’re through with giving gifts that end up shoved in the back of the wardrobe, this post is for you. Let’s shift the focus this year onto supporting independent brands who care about sustainability. With products that are responsibly sourced, ethically made and avoid unnecessary waste.
To help make your present shopping that little bit easier this year, we’ve gone ahead and picked some of our favourite ethical and sustainable brands. Check out our sustainable gifts guide below.
Of course we’re going to mention our range of beautiful, sustainable jewellery. Not only is all our jewellery ethically created, using lab-grown gemstones and recycled precious metals, but we are also committed to offsetting our carbon emissions and making our packaging sustainable, too. Here are a few ideas sure to put a smile on someone’s face this season.
While the mesmerising lab-grown alexandrite reminded us of the vibrant colours of the island of Aruba (hence our aptly named Aruba collection), we have to admit the colour changing green by day red by night gems remind us of something else this festive time of year...red, green and gold, anyone?
Pair our Aruba Studs, lab-grown alexandrite set in recycled 14k gold, with our Aruba Necklace for a complete set. The perfect gift.
Bring a little sparkle to your loved one this Christmas with our Como earrings. Featuring 7/8 ctw lab-grown diamonds set in solid 14k recycled gold. For some serious Christmas party glamour.
Like the star atop your tree, the starry diamond Sahara Studs are the perfect finishing touch to anyone’s ensemble. Featuring a 2mm lab-grown diamond set in a starburst pattern of recycled yellow 14k gold.
When it comes to the beauty industry, more and more brands are setting the example for sustainability. Below are a few of our favourites (all of which are cruelty free, FYI).
REN Clean Skincare helps lead the way when it comes to sustainability. They use only sustainably sourced ingredients and reclaimed ocean-plastic packaging. They also offer a refill scheme and at the end of last year, achieved their goal to only produce packaging designed to be recyclable, containing recycled materials or being reusable. The team at REN aren’t content to stop there. By partnering with some of their top competitors, their goal is to develop an entirely sustainable packaging process by 2025.Definitely one to watch out for.
